Grandma's Uni Reuni
Yes, my grandma was once young, too.
Here she is, attending the 150th year of Sancta Ursula, the dorm (and of course school) where she stayed during her uni days.That was long time ago, between 1960-1965, grandma attended the Christian University of Indonesia and majored in English literature.
Although now grey-haired, grandma used to ride a scooter, bike and finally at 20 years old, got a Fiat car as present from my great grandpa. Was she a hell driver? Maybe yes, but then traffic was soooo calm and cars so scarce, most hell drivers survived without many-a do!
These ladies (it was an all-girls school/dorm) became the same old ones when they met. They addressed each other in the old names. My grandma was Gretha Liem!There were Roos Ong, Marijke Tjoe, Josie Liem, Lies Tjoa etc.
I wish I could live a life and have a re-union with friends after 40 years, just like what my grandma has!
